Security, Compliance & Resilience

What happens to your business if you’re breached tomorrow?

Clients asking for proof you’re secure. An audit you’re not sure you’d pass. Backups nobody has tested in months. LANIX takes those worries off your desk — making UK businesses hard to breach, easy to certify and quick to recover, in plain English.

Secure, compliant, recoverable

Most incidents start small: a convincing phishing email, spam that slips through, or one employee clicking a link they shouldn’t. One breach, failed ICO audit or lost contract can cost more than a year of proper protection. LANIX gives UK SMEs a straightforward path to being secure, compliant and recoverable — so when someone asks “are we secure?”, you know the answer.

Getting it right costs far less than getting it wrong

Proper security and compliance is one of the smallest lines in an IT budget. A single breach or failed audit is one of the largest.

The cost of getting it wrong

  • ICO fines running to tens of thousands for a single data breach
  • Ransom demands, plus the cost of rebuilding what you cannot recover
  • Days of downtime with staff paid but unable to work
  • Contracts lost because you could not prove your security

The cost of doing it right

  • A fixed, predictable monthly cost you can budget for
  • Firewalls, antivirus, antispam and monitoring already included
  • Cyber Essentials certification and the evidence pack to go with it
  • Staff who recognise a phishing email before they click it

LANIX gets your business secure, certified and able to keep trading.

Stop attackers before they reach your data

Phishing, spam and simple human error are how most attacks get in. We filter what reaches your people, train them to spot the rest, and close the gaps across your devices, network, cloud and Microsoft 365.

Know your backups actually work

Many businesses discover their backups are broken only when they need them. We make sure yours are automated, encrypted, off-site and tested — so recovery is a process, not a panic.

Pass audits and win client trust

Whether it’s a Cyber Essentials audit, an ICO inquiry or a client asking for proof of security, we give you the documentation and controls to answer with confidence.

What changes for your business

Once the work is done, your leadership team can talk to boards, insurers, auditors and major clients about risk with confidence — backed by real evidence, not guesswork.

Far fewer ways in — the gaps attackers look for are closed, and your critical systems are properly protected.

No more guessing about recovery — backups are tested and documented, so you know exactly how quickly you’d be back.

Audits stop being stressful — you have the controls and the paperwork to show you follow the rules that apply to you.

One clear picture — security, backup and compliance in a single view, instead of scattered reports nobody reads.

Cyber Essentials & Cyber Essentials Plus certification support in London

Cyber Essentials is the practical entry point to Security, Compliance & Resilience. It proves to clients, insurers, public sector buyers and supply chain partners that your business meets a recognised UK cyber security standard — and the same controls underpin our cybersecurity, backup and data protection work.

Whether or not you go for certification, that same baseline is what LANIX puts in place for every client: managed firewalls, antivirus and antispam filtering, continuous monitoring, and staff security awareness training so your team is part of the defence rather than the weak point.

The government-backed, NCSC-approved baseline covering firewalls, secure configuration, user access control, malware protection and security update management. LANIX prepares your environment, closes the gaps and guides your London business through Cyber Essentials certification.

Cyber Essentials Plus certification logo

Cyber Essentials Plus certification

The same five controls, independently verified through a hands-on technical audit of your devices, Microsoft 365 tenant and cloud services. We remediate first, so your Cyber Essentials Plus assessment becomes a formality rather than a risk.

  • Cyber Essentials readiness assessment and gap analysis
  • Remediation of endpoints, Microsoft 365 and network controls before assessment
  • Evidence pack, policies and documentation prepared for the certification body
  • Annual Cyber Essentials renewal managed with your ongoing IT support

FAQs

Yes. We run a Cyber Essentials readiness assessment against the five control areas (firewalls, secure configuration, user access control, malware protection and security update management), remediate the gaps across your devices, Microsoft 365 tenant and network, prepare the evidence for the certification body and manage annual renewal. For Cyber Essentials Plus we make sure your environment will pass the independent hands-on technical audit before it takes place.

Cyber Essentials is a government-backed self-assessment of five core technical controls, verified by an accredited certification body. Cyber Essentials Plus covers exactly the same controls but adds an independent technical audit of a sample of your devices and cloud services, giving stronger assurance to clients, insurers and public sector buyers.

No. You can start with any of the three—Cybersecurity Enhancement, Data Backup & Data Recovery, or Compliance & Data Protection—and expand over time. Many clients begin with a security or backup focus and then address compliance as the next step.

A LANIX IT audit is a deep, independent assessment of your environment, covering all three reports: performance, security, and budget & value. Security, Compliance & Resilience services then implement and manage the improvements the audit identifies, particularly around security controls, backup and data governance.

We plan and phase work to minimise disruption, prioritising critical risks and scheduling impactful changes (such as backup platform migrations or policy changes) at sensible times.

Yes. We can either take full responsibility or work in partnership with your current MSP or internal IT team, especially for compliance and resilience initiatives.

We build regular review cycles into our engagements and track changes in threat trends and relevant guidance for SMEs, updating your controls and recommendations as needed.

Not universally, but if you supply to central government or the MOD it is required. The new Cyber Security and Resilience Bill also signals that mandatory frameworks are expanding — getting certified now puts you ahead of the curve.

Many larger organisations and public sector buyers now ask suppliers to prove they hold Cyber Essentials before signing contracts. Certification is increasingly a commercial differentiator, not just a technical checkbox.

For most SMEs with a reasonably managed IT environment, readiness can be achieved in 4–8 weeks. Cyber Essentials Plus typically adds 2–4 weeks for the independent technical audit.
